    TPU film

Although thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) film only accounts for a very small share in the plastic film industry, due to the good biocompatibility and recyclability of TPU film, the environmental protection advantages are prominent. With the continuous improvement of people's environmental protection awareness and consumption ability, the substitution effect of TPU film on existing plastic film products will gradually be reflected.

TPU film has excellent properties such as high strength, good toughness, cold resistance, oil resistance, aging resistance, weather resistance, environmental protection, non-toxicity, decomposability, waterproof and moisture permeability, wind resistance, cold resistance, warmth retention, antibacterial, anti-ultraviolet and energy release, etc. It can be applied to Shoe materials, waterproof and moisture-permeable fabrics, food packaging, medical supplies, inflatable bags, sports and leisure equipment and many other fields.

TPU film is easy to recycle and biodegradable, which can fundamentally avoid the pollution of waste to the environment; TPU film is biocompatible, non-toxic, non-allergic, non-local irritation and non-pyrogenic. Due to the excellent performance and environmental protection concept of TPU film, it is increasingly popular, and the application breadth and depth of TPU film are constantly expanding. With the alternate development of industry technology, replacing non-environmental-friendly films with TPU films has become the trend of implementing environmental protection policies all over the world.

At present, genuine leather, synthetic leather and cloth are the three most commonly used materials for high-end handbags and leather goods. TPU film has excellent properties such as waterproof and moisture permeability, yellow resistance, hydrolysis resistance and high temperature resistance. It has better feel and physical properties.

Due to price reasons, TPU film has only been used as a luggage material in recent years, and it is only used in mid-to-high-end luxury handbags and leather goods, but the usage is showing a rapid growth trend. With the increasingly strict supervision and restrictions on synthetic materials such as PU and PVC in Europe, America and Japan, synthetic materials such as PVC and PU will gradually be replaced by environmentally friendly TPU films. It is expected that TPU films will be used in high-end handbags and leather goods in the next few years. The market size will continue to grow rapidly.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
