GreenTPU talks about four applications of TPU hot melt adhesive film

The use of TPU to make a new product in hot melt adhesives, hot melt adhesive films, has gradually started and developed. Compared with the currently dominant EVA hot melt adhesives and synthetic rubber hot melt adhesives, TPU hot melt adhesive films are both It can meet the customer's demand for high viscosity, and also has the good physical properties of TPU

TPU hot melt adhesive film has the characteristics of good washing resistance and dry cleaning resistance, high temperature resistance up to 130 degrees, low temperature resistance of minus 30 degrees, and good tensile properties.

Four applications of TPU hot melt adhesive film

Application 1: At present, the hot-melt adhesive used for seamless wall covering is mainly EVA hot-melt adhesive film, but the shortcomings of EVA hot-melt adhesive film are very obvious, although the melting point of 80 degrees is relatively low, but for It is still difficult for seamless wall coverings to be pasted at the corners; the low temperature type TPU hot melt adhesive film has a lower melting point than the EVA hot melt adhesive film, which is more convenient for the processing of the corners during seamless pasting. There are many types of TPU hot melt adhesive films of Tepuyou, and there are high, medium and low temperature models that can be selected according to needs.

Application 2: It is recommended to use TPU hot melt adhesive film for the hot melt adhesive film used in combination with PVC and non-woven materials. In addition to the compounding of PVC and non-woven fabrics, TPU hot melt adhesive films can be used as compound adhesives for PVC floors and PVC wallboards.

Application 3: The combination of leather and sponge is generally recommended to use TPU hot melt adhesive film. If the requirements for softness are relatively high, the effect of using TPU hot melt adhesive film will be better!

Application 4: The field of shoe materials is one of the important application fields of TPU hot melt adhesive film. The demand for TPU hot melt adhesive film in the shoe material industry is mainly based on low-temperature hot-melt adhesive film with release film, such as the lamination of shoe uppers, Compounding of insoles, etc.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
