TPU film is widely used

    The use scale of TPU film is gradually extending from the original key categories of shoes, clothing, household textiles, luxury handbags to the new categories of agriculture, medical treatment, electronics, aerospace, military industry and so on. Together, TPU film is a new type of industrial material that can be continuously modified. It can further optimize the function of TPU film, expand the scope of use of TPU film, and then give TPU film strong and continuous vitality through raw material modification, material formula adjustment, production process optimization and other methods.

    TPU film has excellent low-temperature flexibility. Even when exposed to temperatures as low as - 30 degrees Celsius, most films are flexible, which makes them ideal for harsh environments. Its abrasion resistance is superior to many other common polymers. It is more than five times more wear-resistant than natural rubber, and is one of the preferred materials for wear-resistant products. TPU film has the characteristics of high strength, good resistance, wear resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, water resistance, aging resistance, and climate resistance that other plastic materials cannot match. Together, it has many common functions such as high water resistance, moisture permeability, wind resistance, cold resistance, antibacterial, mildew resistance, heat preservation, ultraviolet resistance, and energy release.

    There are two trends in the application of TPU film on sports shoes: one is the popular trend caused by women's sandals, that is, the highly transparent TPU film is directly cut, or screen printed and colored, or the binding cloth is based on a sandwich cloth, etc., which is formed and bonded on the upper with high frequency, with functional and decorative effects. The second is to use the waterproof and moisture permeable TPU film and the shoe material cloth to achieve the waterproof and moisture permeable effect.

​From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
