What is TPU hot melt adhesive film and what are its characteristics?
The main component of TPU hot melt adhesive film is thermoplastic polyurethane, so it is also called thermoplastic polyurethane hot melt adhesive film. It has good washability and flexibility, and is the most popular hot melt adhesive film among all materials. TPU hot melt adhesive film can be divided into high melting point type and low melting point type. The difference between them is not only the difference in operating temperature, but also the difference in characteristics and attributes. High temperature TPU hot melt adhesive film has elasticity and transparency. The higher the melting point, the better the elasticity and transparency. The TPU hot melt adhesive film at low temperature has no elasticity, and the color is white matte.

High temperature TPU hot melt adhesive film has elasticity and transparency. The higher the melting point, the better the elasticity and transparency. The TPU hot melt adhesive film at low temperature has no elasticity, and the color is white matte.

In practice, medium temperature or high and low temperature TPU hot-melt adhesive film can be used for the compounding of packaging bags of different materials. Medium and high temperature TPU hot melt adhesive film is mainly used in luggage, shoe material and clothing industries, etc., with good elasticity and resistance to yellowing.

The TPU hot-melt adhesive film undergoes a high-temperature melting process during the manufacturing process, which can promote the volatilization of some harmful substances and ensure safer ingredients. When the hot melt adhesive film is used for the compounding of products and materials, even if it is processed again in a "high temperature" environment, no other harmful substances will volatilize. Therefore, after these two high temperature treatments, it is ensured that the TPU hot melt adhesive film is a completely non-toxic and harmless environmentally friendly adhesive. TPU hot melt adhesive film is tacky without the help of organic solvent heating, which is a thermoplastic adhesive.

The above is an introduction to the types of TPU hot melt adhesive films used in the combination of luggage, shoe materials and clothing products. Generally speaking, various types of TPU hot melt adhesive film can be used in the combination of luggage, shoe materials and clothing products. They have the characteristics of strong adhesion, good effect, cost saving and environmental protection. More and more customers choose TPU hot melt adhesive film for the combination of luggage products.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
