One of the benefits of TPU hot melt adhesive film is that it can be used in low temperature environments
TPU hot melt adhesive film is a kind of hot melt adhesive that can solidify at room temperature. Its performance is stable and non-sticky. But it only melts and becomes sticky when heated to a specific temperature. Therefore, it can be determined that TPU hot melt adhesive film needs to be heated before it can be used. Even in an extremely cold environment of minus 30 degrees Celsius, TPU hot melt adhesive filmn still maintain elasticity and toughness, but its performance at high temperatures is poor. Because TPU hot melt adhesive film generates a large amount of heat energy, its usual use temperature range is between -30°C and 80°C. It is not recommended to use it in an environment exceeding 130°C for a long time. In addition to being widely used in the shoemaking industry, TPU hot melt adhesive films also have many use scenarios in industries such as outdoor brand clothing, breeding and planting industries.

Low-temperature TPU hot melt adhesive film has no elasticity, while high-temperatureTPU hot melt adhesive film has good elasticity. TPU hot melt adhesive film also has some common properties of polyurethane materials, such as softness, cold resistance and water resistance. At the same thickness, TPU hot melt adhesive film is softer than other materials and is very suitable for composite bonding of textile fabrics. Although TPU hot melt adhesive film has a wide range of applications and is very common, most people have not been exposed to it because it belongs to the field of industrial applications. Therefore, many people may not understand TPU hot melt adhesive film. For something that looks like a plastic film, it may be difficult for you to imagine that it is actually an adhesive and can be used in such a wide range of fields!

TPU hot melt adhesive film has many benefits, one of which is that it can be used in low temperature environments. It creates a stronger connection than regular glue. This is because the TPU hot melt adhesive film has very good stickiness. Able to quickly bond materials after heating to form a strong connection. In addition, the use effect of TPU hot melt adhesive film is not easily affected by the external environment. Remains stable even in high or low temperature environments.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
