Chemical resistance of TPU film: protecting your safety and comfort

In the wave of modern science and technology, the development of materials science is changing with each passing day, bringing us many revolutionary innovations. Among them, TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) film plays a pivotal role in many fields due to its unique chemical resistance.

TPU film, this seemingly inconspicuous film material, actually has amazing chemical resistance. Whether facing strong acid, strong alkali or organic solvent,TPU film can demonstrate its excellent chemical stability. This chemical resistance stems from the particularity of the TPU molecular structure. Ingredients such as polyols and diisocyanates enable the TPU film to maintain its original physical and chemical properties in various complex chemical environments.

In the industrial field, the chemical resistance of TPU film is particularly important. Many industrial equipment and components need to be in contact with various chemical substances for a long time. If the materials are not resistant to chemical corrosion, it can easily lead to equipment damage, performance degradation and even safety accidents. The chemical resistance of TPU film makes it an ideal choice for these equipment and components, which can effectively protect equipment and components from chemical corrosion.

In addition to the industrial field, the chemical resistance of TPU films also plays an important role in daily life. For example, in the medical field, infusion tubes, medical equipment, etc. need to be in contact with liquid medicine for a long time. If the materials are not resistant to chemical corrosion, it can easily lead to contamination of the liquid medicine and cause harm to patients. The chemical resistance of TPU film can ensure the safety and stability of medical equipment and medicinal solutions.

In addition, the chemical resistance of TPU film is also reflected in its excellent oil resistance. Compared with other materials, the TPU film has better oil resistance. Even if it is in contact with oil for a long time, it can maintain its original performance and will not be damaged by oil erosion.

In short, the chemical resistance of TPU film is an important indicator among its many excellent properties. Whether in the industrial field or in daily life, TPU film brings us a safer and more comfortable use experience with its excellent chemical resistance.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
