TPU hot melt adhesive film bonding seamless down jacket

What are the advantages of TPU hot melt adhesive film?

In addition to its strong tack, TPU hot melt adhesive films have excellent abrasion and water resistance. It can be used outdoors and in humid environments for a long time, can be washed with water, has good environmental protection and good elasticity, which is one of the important reasons for choosing TPU hot melt adhesive film as an adhesive.

One advantage of TPU hot melt adhesive film is that it can be compounded on the material to be bonded first, then cut into the required shape according to the requirements, and then compounded on another piece of bonding and cutting. This has great convenience in compounding seamless down jackets, which can reduce waste and reduce costs. TPU hot melt adhesive film is solid at room temperature, which is easy to transport and handle, which is unmatched by traditional adhesives.

What are the types of hot melt adhesive films for seamless down jackets?

According to the above analysis, it can be concluded that the hot-melt adhesive film suitable for seamless down jackets needs to have good washing resistance, and it must be a low-temperature type, and must also be a hot-melt adhesive film. Then, low temperature TPU hot melt adhesive film and PES hot melt adhesive film meet these properties.

How to use TPU hot melt adhesive film for seamless underwear

TPU hot melt adhesive film has a double-layer structure, one layer of adhesive and one layer of release paper. When using, the glued side should be bonded to the cloth side. After cooling, tear off the release paper for secondary bonding.

As we all know, clothing fabrics are flammable and have a particularly low ignition point. Moreover, the down jacket is still used in cold weather. The temperature in the cold northern places can be as low as minus 30 degrees in winter, which requires the composite TPU hot melt adhesive film to have low temperature resistance. Seamless down jackets also need to be waterproof and soft. Glue also controls pinhole ripening and reduces hair loss.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
