The bonding method of TPU hot melt adhesive film

First, cut the TPU hot melt adhesive film to the corresponding width, and bond the TPU hot melt adhesive film to the surface of the fabric by pressing at high temperature. After drying, the release paper with the film removed is pressed and bonded again at high temperature according to the process requirements, which is called hot stamping seamless bonding.

Good adhesion to textiles, leather, TPU film, sponge and other materials, good washability and softness. Traditional TPU color is transparent or white matte, with high melting point and low melting point. This type of TPU hot melt adhesive film is black on both sides, with excellent shading performance, high melting point and good elasticity.

TPU hot melt adhesive film is a film with a certain thickness made of materials that can melt and bond the adherend at room temperature, without any stickiness, but once pressed at high temperature, it immediately shows the stickiness of TPU hot melt adhesive film. The fabric can be quickly and successfully combined without any glue marks.

How to clean the TPU hot melt adhesive film substrate before use!

The pollution layer on the substrate will isolate the TPU hot melt adhesive film, thereby reducing the bonding effect between the TPU hot melt adhesive film and the substrate, so the surface of the substrate should be cleaned before bonding [oiling]

    1. Metal substrate treatment

Sand it with sandpaper first, then wipe with alcohol.

    2. Fabric base treatment

Soak in the solution and put into use.

    3. Adhesive surfaces of leather, polyvinyl chloride, artificial leather, wool, etc.

Grind with fine sand first, then use trichloroethylene steam to clean oil and dust.

Due to the rapid progress of science and technology, TPU hot melt adhesive film has also developed rapidly in recent years. At the same time, it also has some characteristics of ordinary TPU film, which makes it more widely used. to meet the needs of other markets.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
