TPU film - inflatable bladder

TPU film is a new type of inflatable bladder material, which has developed rapidly in recent years. Compared with PVC and traditional rubber tape, TPU film has obvious advantages. TPU film has the unparalleled tensile, tear, abrasion and low temperature flex resistance properties of rubber or PVC, as well as good oil resistance, aging resistance and weather resistance. It is superior to PVC in terms of material flexibility and mechanical strength, and TPU film does not contain a large amount of volatile plasticizers like PVC, which causes the material to harden and become brittle, and the mechanical properties deteriorate.

However, due to the high price, TPU film is currently mainly used to make high-end bag materials with high material performance requirements, such as air mattresses, massage chair bag materials, rubber boats and inflatable boat bag materials for offshore operations, lifting Airbag materials, airbag materials for military or civilian airships, spherical membranes and inner bladders, etc.

TPU film is a new type of sustainable modified industrial material. It can further optimize its performance and expand its application fields through raw material modification, material formulation adjustment, and production process optimization, which can endow it with strong and sustainable vitality.

Due to price reasons, TPU film has only been used as a luggage material in recent years, and it is only used in mid-to-high-end luxury handbags and leather goods, but the usage is showing a rapid growth trend. The application scope of TPU film is gradually extending from the original key fields such as shoes, clothing, home textiles, luxury handbags, etc. to new fields such as agriculture, medical care, electronics, aerospace, and military industry. In the future, with the in-depth research and development of TPU film products and the improvement of the technical level of the TPU film industry, the application field ofTPU film will continue to expand, and the penetration rate will continue to increase, which will bring huge opportunities for related manufacturing companies.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
