Two things you need to know before using tpu film
Compared with plastic materials such as PVC film, EVA film, butyl rubber, TPU film not only has excellent properties such as environmental protection, non-toxic, mildew resistance, antibacterial, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, but also has excellent properties such as tortuous tear resistance, acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance, and good weather resistance. TPU hot melt adhesive film is actually a type of TPU film, which has excellent adhesion and exhibits extremely excellent adhesion in the composite of the same material or different materials.

Two things you need to know before using TPU film

First, there is the chemical resistance of the TPU film. TPU films are not resistant to strong polar solvents and strong acid and alkali media. At a certain temperature, alcohols, acids, and ketones can cause swelling and degradation of polyurethane elastomers. Solvents such as dichloromethane and trichloroethylene can cause TPU to swell at room temperature.

The second is the high-temperature resistance of the TPU film. Although the TPU film can maintain its elasticity and toughness in the severe cold of minus 30 degrees Celsius, it cannot withstand high temperatures. The TPU film has a large heat generation inside and a general high temperature resistance performance. The normal use temperature range is from - 30 ℃ to 80 ℃, so the TPU film should not be used above 120 ℃ for a long time.

In recent years, the requirements for environmental protection in all walks of life in China have been quite similar. Many ordinary films produce more harmful and harmful substances during production and use, which does not meet the national requirements for production and environmental protection. The TPU film is made of non-toxic and harmless TPU film, and the overall processing requirements are much higher than ordinary films, making it more safe and environmentally friendly.

Currently, TPU films are mainly used to produce high-grade liner materials that require high material performance, such as air cushions, electric massage chair liner materials, water work rubber boats and inflatable boat liner materials, hoisting liner materials, defense or civil aircraft liner materials, spherical membranes, and liners.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
