    TPU film is composed of two series of polyester and polyether. TPU film and polyester film have good high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance and air tightness, and the processing technology is simple, so they are widely used to replace various PVC film products. Polyether film has excellent hydrolysis resistance, low temperature resistance and excellent antibacterial and antifungal effects, so it is very suitable for water sports and medical equipment fields.

    The TPU film is produced by an elastomer manufacturer. After drying and dehumidification treatment, it is mixed and solidified by a screw and then extruded into a film through a die. However, any factor can cause non-uniform film thickness if the raw material is not stable.

    Generally speaking, it is normal for the thickness tolerance of 10 wire TPU film in the industry to be 1 wire (0.01 mm), of course, this is also related to the thickness of the film. The thinner the TPU film, the smaller the thickness tolerance.

    However, advanced testing equipment for TPU film manufacturers is often very expensive, so controlling film thickness and reject rate is a headache for many small and medium-sized TPU film manufacturers.

    Increasing adoption of lightweight materials in the automotive service industry in order to improve energy management efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the country is expected to drive the growth of the TPU film market.

    The application of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) film is not limited to the field of fabrics. Using vacuum thermoforming technology, it can produce products with clear contours and stable dimensions. With the improvement of China's environmental protection awareness, TPU is widely used, especially in the fastest growing application areas including: inner lining, thermal underwear, transparent underwear, transparent shoulder straps, elastic belts and medical breathable tapes. In addition, TPU film is also widely used in the field of clothing fabric composite materials. ​From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
