Which hot melt adhesive film has good washability?

Hot melt adhesive film will show many different performance requirements due to different materials, such as high temperature resistance, washability, etc. I believe everyone is familiar with high temperature resistance, but many people may not be familiar with washability. Related to the seamless bonding of hot melt adhesive films. Are the clothes durable? Many people may not know what waterproofing means. Generally speaking, the fabric is adhered with a hot melt adhesive film, soaked in water at a certain temperature, and can still maintain a high level after repeated friction. Bond strength characteristics. Washable hot melt adhesive film mainly includes pes hot melt adhesive film, pa hot melt adhesive film and tpu hot melt adhesive film.

Generally in the field of clothing, there are high requirements for the washability and softness of hot melt adhesive films, so pa hot melt adhesive films and tpu hot melt adhesive films will be used more.

The higher the temperature, the higher the washing resistance of the hot melt adhesive film. Some products can be cleaned with warm water at about 60 degrees, but not suitable for washing with hot water at about 90 degrees. At this time, a functional hot melt adhesive film is usually used. The characteristics of the functional hot melt adhesive film are somewhat different from the conventional hot melt adhesive film, for example, it can be flame-retardant and can resist 100% boiling.

Hot melt adhesive films are classified into thermoplastic and thermosetting according to their use characteristics. They have the following characteristics:

1. The bonding thickness is good, consistent and uniform;

2. Easy to process, no solvent, easy to process;

3. Good adhesion to various objects;

4. The thickness is 0.1-0.203mm, and the color is translucent/amber;

5. It can be punched into precise shape and size, suitable for manual or automatic application.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
