When different types of materials are combined with TPU hot melt adhesive film

There are many specifications of TPU hot melt adhesive films that manufacturers can produce. When used to compound different types of media, the properties of the applied films will have some differences.

When different types of materials are combined with TPU hot melt adhesive film, the specific bonding time will be different due to the differences in the bonding materials required by various industries. It is usually similar to ordinary glue, and the bonding principle has some similarities. Usually water and high temperature resistant film type will produce better bonding effect and last longer.

For different types of TPU hot melt adhesive films, due to the differences in their adherends, the contrast viscosities that can be produced will also vary greatly.TPU hot melt adhesive film manufacturers will also apply different types of production formulas for corresponding matching when making different types of films. If only the viscosity of the TPU hot melt adhesive film is considered, the final duration will be very different.

When the product is combined with the TPU hot melt adhesive film, its adhesion has a great influence on the application of the entire film, but it does not mean that the higher the viscosity, the better the product itself. For consumers, when purchasing adhesive films, they need to correspond according to the properties of the composite materials they need to apply, that is, the properties of adhesive films applied to different materials will be different, and the final composite effect will also be quite different.

Therefore, when purchasing TPU hot melt adhesive film, we should pay attention to the comprehensive consideration of the adhesion of TPU hot melt adhesive film and applicable materials. Only when the type of TPU hot melt adhesive film selected is more suitable than the material to be bonded, the final bonding effect can be better.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
