What details should be paid attention to when bonding TPU hot melt adhesive film with fabric
1、 Pay attention to the bonding temperature During the bonding process between TPU hot melt adhesive film and fabric, temperature is one of the most important factors. If the temperature is too high, it may cause the adhesive film to melt prematurely and not fully penetrate into the fabric; If the temperature is too low, it may cause the adhesive film to not completely melt, affecting the bonding effect. Therefore, before bonding, the temperature should be tested to ensure that it is within the appropriate range. Generally speaking, the suitable bonding temperature for TPU hot melt adhesive film is between 120 and 150 degrees Celsius

What details should be paid attention to when bonding TPU hot melt adhesive film with fabric

1、 Pay attention to the bonding temperature

During the bonding process between TPU hot melt adhesive film and fabric, temperature is one of the most important factors.

2、 Pay attention to adhesive pressure

In addition to temperature, the bonding pressure of TPU hot melt adhesive film is also an important factor affecting the bonding effect. During the bonding process, appropriate pressure should be ensured to allow the TPU hot melt adhesive film to fully penetrate the fabric and tightly bond with it. Excessive or insufficient pressure can have a negative impact on the bonding effect. Therefore, during the bonding process, the pressure should be adjusted according to factors such as the material and thickness of the fabric to ensure that it is within the appropriate range.

3、 Pay attention to the bonding time

The bonding time is also one of the important factors affecting the bonding effect. During the bonding process, sufficient bonding time should be ensured to allow the TPU hot melt adhesive film to fully penetrate the fabric and bond with it. If the bonding time is too short, it may cause the adhesive film to not fully penetrate into the fabric, affecting the bonding effect; If the bonding time is too long, it may cause the adhesive film to excessively penetrate into the fabric, leading to problems such as fabric deformation or foaming. Therefore, the appropriate bonding time for TPU hot melt adhesive film should be determined based on the specific situation during the bonding process.

4、 Pay attention to the material and thickness of the fabric

The material and thickness of the fabric can also affect the bonding effect of TPU hot melt adhesive film. The sensitivity of fabrics with different materials and thicknesses to temperature, pressure, and time varies. Therefore, before bonding, it is necessary to fully understand the material and thickness of the fabric, and select suitable bonding conditions for TPU hot melt adhesive film bonding.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
