The reason why TPU hot melt adhesive film is not sticky?

    TPU hot melt adhesive film is a kind of hot melt adhesive film, which can be well bonded with various materials and has high bonding strength. TPU hot melt adhesive film is widely used, and it always appears in unexpected places. Briefly list some usage scenarios of TPU hot melt adhesive film.

    (a) TPU hot melt adhesive film is also required for the production of shoe uppers;

    (b) Automotive interiors require composite TPU hot melt adhesive films;

    (c) It is necessary to wear thick fleece warm pants composite film with TPU hot melt adhesive film in winter;

    Why can't TPU hot melt adhesive film stick to the fabric?

    (1) Confirm whether the fabric type is incompatible with TPU hot melt adhesive film: Although TPU hot melt adhesive film can be used for fabric bonding, it is not suitable for all fabrics. If the cloth to be bonded is not compatible with the TPU hot melt adhesive film, the bond will be weak.

    (2) Confirm whether it is a problem in use: it may also be that the bonding conditions are not set correctly during use, resulting in insufficient melting of the TPU hot melt adhesive film and weak bonding.

    High temperature TPU hot melt adhesive film has elasticity and transparency. The higher the melting point, the better the elasticity and transparency of the TPU hot melt adhesive film. However, TPU hot melt adhesive film is not elastic at low temperature and its color is white matte. How to use the TPU hot melt adhesive film: According to the requirements of the fabric, cut the TPU hot melt adhesive film to the corresponding width, press it on the surface of the fabric at high temperature until the TPU hot melt adhesive film is completely attached, and then press at high temperature as required. This method is called seamless connection of TPU hot melt adhesive films.

    TPU hot melt adhesive film needs to be heated to bond, more environmentally friendly, washable, transparent, resistant to high temperature and low temperature! TPU hot melt adhesive film is in great demand in various industries, and the adhesive materials include but are not limited to various textiles, leather, TPU sponge, rubber materials, etc.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
