The reasons for the failure of TPU hot melt adhesive film bonding

TPU hot melt adhesive film acts as a bond between the same material and different materials. Widely used in clothing, shoe materials, packaging and other fields. TPU hot melt adhesive film can not only meet customers' requirements for high viscosity, but also have excellent physical properties of TPU. TPU hot melt adhesive film has good washability and softness, and is a popular hot melt adhesive film for most materials. TPU hot melt adhesive film is a new type of environmentally friendly material, which has the ability to degrade, is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and resistant to yellowing. It is suitable for products that are in direct contact with humans. At the same time, TPU hot melt adhesive film also has a variety of bonding processes, which is convenient for processing and improves efficiency. TPU hot melt adhesive film has a practical effect on the bonding of the same material and different materials.

The reasons for the failure of TPU hot melt adhesive film bonding

    1. The melting point of the TPU hot melt adhesive film used is too low.

    2. The drying temperature used is too high, and the thickness of the TPU hot melt adhesive film is not enough

    3. It is necessary to choose a good and stable TPU hot melt adhesive film and debug related processes.

    4. The material used has anti-sticking effect.

    5. The thickness of TPU hot melt adhesive film is not enough

    6. The temperature operation process is not good.

    7. Adjust the thickness of the TPU hot melt adhesive film according to the conventional process.

TPU hot melt adhesive film is a kind of hot melt adhesive film. TPU hot melt adhesive film is a new type of environmentally friendly material, which has the ability to degrade, is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and resistant to yellowing. It is suitable for products that are in direct contact with humans. TPU hot melt adhesive film occupies a very important position in the entire composite material market. The application of TPU hot melt adhesive film can be said to be more and more extensive, and its shadow can be seen in clothing, shoe materials, luggage, plastics and even high-end products.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
