Application of TPU hot melt adhesive film in clothing

In the clothing industry, the use of TPU hot melt adhesive film instead of stitching has gradually become a trend, bringing new changes to the clothing process. TPU hot melt adhesive film has also become an indispensable auxiliary material for clothing production. There are many kinds of clothing fabrics, such as traditional cotton and linen fabrics, silk fabrics, polyester, spandex, nylon and other chemical fiber materials, or blended fabrics. For fabrics of different proportions and compositions, the surface characteristics are different. In addition, with different textile processing, the requirements of fabrics for the performance of TPU hot melt adhesive film will also be very different, which puts forward higher customized requirements for the development of TPU hot melt adhesive film.

    High-end non-iron shirt film

The application of TPU hot melt adhesive film in the collar and cuffs of clothing has gradually become the first choice for high-end non-iron shirts. According to different fabrics and effects, different membranes can be selected. For example, silk fabrics are generally free from softer films; harder adhesive films are used for clothes that require a crisp effect.

    Sports outdoor clothing accessories.

TPU hot melt adhesive film is mainly used to replace the sewing process of some parts of sports and outdoor clothing, so that there is no bulge in the adhesive and it is closer to the skin. TPU hot-melt adhesive film is also used in the zipper of outdoor jackets, which has a good waterproof effect.

    Military Epaulettes and Cockade Accessories

The application of  TPU hot melt adhesive film on military uniform epaulettes and cap badges involves the bonding of materials such as cloth, plastics, and metals, and firm and reliable bonding strength is the primary factor.

    Seamless boat socks

Wearing boat socks with autumn shoes releases the beauty of women's feet, which is very popular among fashionable women! Among them, the use of TPU hot melt adhesive film is indispensable. TPU hot melt adhesive film is mainly used for the edges of boat socks. The TPU hot melt adhesive film is required not only to have good elasticity, excellent resilience and washing resistance, but also to make the socks durable!

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
