Features and performance advantages of tpu film

Abrasion resistance. It is more than 5 times more wear-resistant than natural rubber, and it is one of the first-choice materials for wear-resistant products.

Tensile performance. The tensile strength is as high as 70 MPa, and the elongation at break is as high as 800%.

Tearing performance. tpu film has high tear resistance, and its tear strength is better than ordinary rubber and plastic adhesives.

Weather resistant. The weather resistance and aging resistance of tpu film are better than natural rubber and other synthetic rubbers.

The hydrolysis-resistant tpu film has good water resistance under turbidity and will not affect the development within 1-2 years, and the degree of hydrolysis will be significantly improved. Polyester series products can be completely hydrolyzed after soaking in 50 water for half a year, or 70 water for 3 weeks, or 100 water for 3 to 4 days. This is one of the reasons why tpu film is suitable for making some environmentally friendly building materials.

High temperature and oxidation resistance. tpu film has good oxidation resistance. Generally, the polyester series can reach 130, and the polyether series can reach 90.

Low temperature. tpu film has excellent flexibility at low temperatures. Most films remain flexible even when exposed to temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius, which puts them in harsh environments.

The taste of tpu film is different from other plastics, it is not easy to produce pungent odor, and it will not release harmful gas. If you smell it carefully, you can smell the fragrance of the tpu film.

Burning tpu film, its smoke is milky white smoke. If a small amount of exhaust pipe emits black smoke, it means that the combustion is insufficient. Buried the tpu film in the soil layer, it only takes about a year to decompose. After decomposition, it becomes water = radon and co2, which is not easy to cause damage to the soil. Therefore, TPU, oh, will not easily cause damage to the geographical environment, and will not cause harm to the body at the same time, so everyone can rest assured.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
