Explanation of solvent for TPU hot melt adhesive film
Factors to consider when selecting solvents: The solvent corrosion of TPU hot melt adhesive film requires consideration of multiple factors, including solubility parameters, chemical reaction activity, boiling point, flash point, toxicity, and cost. Among them, the solubility parameter is the key to selecting a solvent, which determines whether the solvent can be compatible with the TPU hot melt adhesive film. The chemical reactivity determines whether the solvent will react with the TPU hot melt adhesive film and the speed of the reaction. Boiling point and flash point are also important factors to consider, as they determine the safety of solvent use and operating temperature. In addition, toxicity also needs to be considered to prevent adverse effects on human health and the environment. Finally, cost is also a factor to consider in order to avoid unnecessary waste and reduce production costs.

Explanation of solvent for TPU hot melt adhesive film

Factors to consider when selecting solvents:

The solvent corrosion of TPU hot melt adhesive film requires consideration of multiple factors, including solubility parameters, chemical reaction activity, boiling point, flash point, toxicity, and cost.

    Solvent type:

Commonly used solvents include ketones, esters, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Among them, ketone solvents have high solubility and chemical reactivity, making them suitable for dissolving TPU hot melt adhesive films. Ester solvents also have good solubility and chemical reactivity, and have low toxicity, making them a relatively safe solvent. Aromatic hydrocarbon solvents have high boiling and flash points, making them suitable for dissolution under high-temperature operating conditions.

    Operation method:

When performing solvent corrosion, it is necessary to place the TPU hot melt adhesive film in a sealed container, add an appropriate amount of solvent, and heat it to an appropriate temperature for dissolution. During the dissolution process, continuous stirring is required to promote dissolution and chemical reactions. After dissolution is completed, it is necessary to separate and recycle the solvent and waste liquid to avoid waste and environmental pollution.

It should be noted that when using solvents for process operations, special attention should be paid to the corrosiveness of the solvents and strict adherence to operating procedures and safety regulations is essential. During the operation, it is necessary to ensure that personal protective equipment such as protective clothing, gloves, masks, etc. are worn, and that the operating area has good ventilation and fire source control measures. In addition, it is necessary to properly handle the waste liquid to avoid adverse effects on the environment and human health.

In summary, in response to the solvent corrosion problem of TPU hot melt adhesive film, multiple factors such as solubility parameters, chemical reaction activity, boiling point, flash point, toxicity, and cost need to be comprehensively considered. When selecting a suitable solvent, it is necessary to consider the actual situation comprehensively and strictly follow the operating procedures and safety regulations. During the operation process, it is necessary to take personal protective measures and dispose of waste liquid to ensure production safety and environmental protection.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
