Important factors affecting the performance of TPU films
TPU film is a polymer material widely used in various fields, which has advantages such as good wear resistance, weather resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and tear resistance. However, during use, there may be issues with TPU film delamination or cracking. These issues not only affect the performance of the film, but may also pose a potential threat to the safety of users. Therefore, understanding the causes of delamination or cracking in TPU films is of great significance for improving their service life and safety.

    1、 Raw material issues

The quality of raw materials for TPU films is a key factor affecting their performance. If there are impurities, moisture, or other harmful substances in the raw materials, it can cause problems such as delamination or cracking of the film during processing and use. Therefore, in the production process, it is necessary to strictly control the quality of raw materials to ensure that they meet relevant standards and requirements.

    2、 Processing technology issues

The processing technology of TPU film is also an important factor affecting its performance. If the processing technology is improper, such as improper control of parameters such as temperature, pressure, and time, it can lead to problems such as delamination or cracking of the film. Therefore, in the production process, it is necessary to strictly control the processing parameters to ensure that they comply with relevant standards and requirements.

    3、 Environmental issues during use

During the use of TPU film, if it is affected by excessive external forces, temperature changes, chemical corrosion, and other factors, it can lead to problems such as delamination or cracking. Therefore, during use, it is necessary to control environmental factors to avoid being affected by excessive external forces, temperature changes, and other factors.

    4、 Aging issues

TPU film will gradually age during use. Aging can lead to a decrease in the physical properties of the film, making it prone to problems such as delamination or cracking. Therefore, during use, it is necessary to regularly inspect and maintain the film, replace the aging parts in a timely manner, and extend its service life.

In summary, the reasons for delamination or cracking of TPU films may be due to issues with raw materials, processing technology, usage environment, and aging. In order to improve the service life and safety of TPU films, it is necessary to control and maintain the quality of raw materials, processing technology, and usage environment. At the same time, it is also necessary to strengthen research on the aging problem of TPU films in order to further extend their service life and improve their safety.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
