    TPU film has been widely used, and there are two new trends in the application of sports shoes: one is the popular trend started by Nike sports shoes, that is, TPU film is first screen printed with color, and then high-frequency forming and bonding on the upper for decoration, in order to obtain a special decorative effect. The second is the use of waterproof and moisture permeable TPU film and shoe materials with the use of cloth laminated to achieve the effect of waterproof and moisture permeability.

    TPU extrusion coating is a production process of molten TPU film laminated on the substrate, TPU pellets are extruded and melted in the extruder barrel and extruded to two rollers through a plate type mouth die with downward pressure, while traction of the substrate into the molten plasticized material and rubber pressurization rollers. The pressure of the pressurized roller is controlled to fit the plasticized TPU film material to the substrate, and the hot adhesive cloth is cooled through the metal roller, cut to the edge and rolled.

    The mouth die used for TPU extrusion TPU film coating is divided into a flexible lip extrusion plate mouth die and a flexible extrusion plate mouth die with restriction row. The mouth die should enable the melt to have good melt coating fluidity and lateral drip flow. The heated connection sleeve of the central feeding mouth die will send the molten plasticized material from the extruder head to the die mouth. The connection sleeve and the mouth die should be kept at the same temperature to ensure the best results of extruding TPU film. The mouth die is heated by a resistance wire heater cartridge, with the heater placed in the air at the selected location to avoid local overheating and thus ensure good flow of the melt. The die lip is made V-shaped to minimize the gap between the mouth die and the roll.

    Process conditions - Firstly, the position of the extruder is adjusted to determine the extrusion conditions, and the die lip is adjusted to give a constant melt under the specified output, with a lip and melt temperature of 188~204℃. Secondly the base material moves at low speed to adjust the extrusion line. Make the melt coating line quickly reach the predetermined line speed and melt coating quality. The cooling roller temperature is 27~38℃, and the preheating system temperature is 71-~93℃. Then it is possible to adjust the preheating conditions, the gap from the mouth die to the roll, and the pressure of the roll to adjust the adhesion of the substrate. The adjustment of the line speed can control the melt coating weight.

    TPU film is mainly used in footwear, garments, medical products, defense products, sporting goods, industrial products, baby products and toys, livelihood products and daily necessities, etc. TPU film is widely used in sports shoes: logo decoration on soles and uppers, airbags, air cushions, oil packs, etc.

​From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
