The difference between TPU hot melt adhesive film and TPU film

TPU hot melt adhesive film is an adhesive used for bonding various materials. It has the advantages of high light transmittance, high adhesion, non-toxic, odorless, and good weather resistance. Therefore, it is widely used in medical and packaging applications. , construction, automobile manufacturing and other fields have been widely used. TPU film is a film with the advantages of high elasticity, high strength, wear resistance, oil resistance, and easy cleaning. It is often used in the manufacturing of shoes, clothes, pipes and other fields.

Although TPU hot melt adhesive film and TPU film are both made of TPU material, they have certain differences in composition, appearance, usage methods and application fields.

First of all, from the appearance,TPU hot melt adhesive film is usually yellow or white granular and needs to be heated and melted before use. TPU film is a transparent film, available in a variety of colors and specifications.

Secondly, from the composition point of view, the main components of TPU hot melt adhesive film are TPU resin and tackifier, etc., which is a composite material. The TPU film is made of pure TPU resin and does not contain other tackifiers or fillers.

In terms of usage, TPU hot melt adhesive film needs to be heated and melted before use, and is often used for bonding various materials. The TPU film can be used directly without heating and melting, and can be used in various fields.

Finally, from the perspective of application fields, TPU hot melt adhesive films are mainly used in medical, packaging, construction, automobile manufacturing and other fields, while TPU films are mainly used in the manufacturing of shoes, clothes, pipes and other fields.

In addition to the above differences, there are also certain differences in the production processes of TPU hot melt adhesive film and TPU film. TPU hot melt adhesive film usually uses an extruder production process. TPU resin and tackifier are mixed, heated and melted, and then extruded through a die into a sheet or film, and the product is obtained after cooling. TPU films are usually made into films using production processes such as blow molding or casting.

In short, although TPU hot melt adhesive film and TPU film are both made of TPU material, they have certain differences in composition, appearance, usage methods and application fields. Therefore, it is necessary to select the appropriate TPU material according to the specific situation when using it.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
