How to choose hot melt adhesive film in the clothing field

The choice of hot melt adhesive film has always been a very important link in product compounding. Whether the choice is correct is directly related to the progress of the next production link and the composite effect of the finished product. What kind of hot-melt adhesive film to use on clothing" is a question recently consulted. The bonding of wood is also one of the industries that use hot-melt adhesive film.

There are two main types of hot melt adhesive films used in the clothing industry: ,hot melt adhesive films, and hot melt adhesive film Among these three products, you can regard the hot melt adhesive film double-sided adhesive interlining as a derivative product of the hot-melt adhesive net.

There are four types of hot melt adhesive films: pa, pes, eva and tpu. Their characteristics will not be repeated here. If you are not sure, you can read the article shared by Bian Xiao. As clothing has higher requirements for hot-melt adhesive washing resistance, hot melt adhesive film products made of eva materials with poor washing resistance can be excluded.

The application of hot melt adhesive film in the field of clothing is represented by outdoor clothing, such as the combination of jackets and various sports fabrics. This is mainly because the hot melt adhesive film has good waterproof performance.

When thehot melt adhesive film is melted, the pressing equipment is set at a lower temperature, which reduces energy consumption and saves economic costs. First of all, we should consider which kind of hot melt adhesive is suitable for bonding parts. Must consider the appropriate operating temperature, because the inappropriate temperature operation will not play the value of the film. For details, please consult our Green TPU staff. Finally, consider whether the selected hot melt adhesive film is washable and high temperature resistant.

How to choose hot melt adhesive film in the clothing field is basically as described above. As for the specific model, you need to look at the craftsmanship in conjunction with the corresponding composite materials!

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
