Performance description of polyether TPU film

TPU film is made of TPU particles through calendering, casting, film blowing and coating. Widely used in sports shoes: trademark decoration of soles and uppers, airbags, air cushions, oil bags, etc.

1. Hydrolysis resistance. Polyether TPU film has good hydrolysis resistance, and it will not have obvious hydrolysis when placed in water for 1-2 years at room temperature.

2. Yellowing resistance. Due to the yellowing resistance of the raw materials, the yellowing resistance of the polyether TPU film can generally reach grade 4 or above.

3. Low temperature resistance. The polyether TPU film can still maintain good elasticity and softness at -40, without embrittlement and vitrification.

4. Good anti-mildew and antibacterial properties. The polyether TPU film has strong growth resistance to Penicillium, Aspergillus, Aureobasidium pullulans and mixed spores.

5. Polyether TPU film is commonly used in medical supplies, water life-saving supplies and water sports supplies.

Main features of TPU film

1. Wide range of hardness: By changing the ratio of each reaction component of the TPU film, products with different hardness can be obtained, and with the increase of hardness, the product still maintains good elasticity.

2. High mechanical strength: TPU film has outstanding bearing capacity, impact resistance and shock absorption properties.

3. Outstanding cold resistance: The glass transition temperature of the TPU film is relatively low, and it still maintains good physical properties such as elasticity and flexibility at minus 35 degrees.

4. Good processing performance: TPU film can be processed by common processing methods of thermoplastic materials, such as injection, extrusion, calendering, etc. At the same time, TPU film can be processed together with some polymer materials to obtain polymer alloys with complementary properties.

5. Oil resistance, water resistance and mildew resistance.

6. Good recycling.

​From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
