GreenTPU teaches you how to choose the TPU hot melt adhesive film that suits you

TPU hot melt adhesive film has excellent properties such as high strength, high toughness, wear resistance, oil resistance, cold resistance, aging resistance, environmental protection, non-toxicity and degradability. Incomparable with other plastics and rubbers. With good waterproof, moisture permeability, wind resistance, cold resistance, antibacterial and anti-ultraviolet performance, it can be widely used in industrial and civil fields. It also has the characteristics of environmental protection and can completely replace PVC film. Next, let Tepuyo teach you how to choose the TPU hot melt adhesive film that suits you.

1. First look at what your raw materials are. TPU hot melt adhesive films made of different raw materials have different hot melt adhesive film properties, and no adhesive is omnipotent. Polyurethane, for example, has strong adhesion to fabrics, but little adhesion to polyethylene plastics.

2. It depends on the state of the material at high temperature. If your material can withstand a high temperature of 130 degrees, then you must choose a TPU hot melt adhesive film with a melting point lower than 130 degrees, because if the processing temperature does not reach the melting point of the glue, the TPU hot melt adhesive film will not melt, attached The effort is almost zero.

3. Does softness need to be considered when using TPU hot melt adhesive film? Are high temperature or low temperature application needs to be considered? Do you want to wash it with water? Is it dry cleaning? Do you want to consider the expansion force?

4. If there are a variety of TPU hot melt adhesive films to choose from, please choose the most cost-effective TPU hot melt adhesive film, and when meeting the bonding requirements, please choose the thinnest one.

Above, Tepuyou teaches you how to choose the TPU hot melt adhesive film that suits you. Due to the properties of the material, the TPU hot melt adhesive film exhibits good washability, flexibility and elasticity. Suitable for textiles, leather, TPU films and sponges. Such materials have good adhesion and are widely used in clothing, home building materials, shoe materials and many other fields.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
