However, some users may notice that the TPU membrane turns yellow after a period of use, so why is this? Let's explore below.

    There may be multiple reasons for the yellowing of TPU membranes. Firstly, there may be issues with the TPU membrane material itself, and the additives added during the production process may react with the usage, causing the membrane to turn yellow. In addition, prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation can cause the TPU film to age and turn yellow, while also being affected by environmental humidity and cleanliness. If there is dirt on the surface, it may also cause the TPU film to turn yellow. Incorrect usage methods, such as using inappropriate cleaning agents, scrapers, or not cleaning the surface before installation, can also cause the TPU film to turn yellow.

    So, how to prevent and maintain the usage environment of TPU membranes? Firstly, maintain cleanliness and dryness to avoid prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Secondly, appropriate cleaning agents and scrapers should be used during use to avoid scratching with excessively sharp tools. In addition, during installation, it is necessary to ensure that the surface is clean and tidy to avoid residues affecting the adhesive energy and color of the film. The yellowing of the membrane is mainly caused by material issues, usage environment, and improper use. Therefore, attention should be paid to maintaining a clean and dry environment during use, using appropriate tools and correct installation methods to avoid yellowing. ​From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
