TPU hot melt adhesive film has a wide range of applications and high popularity

TPU hot melt adhesive film is a polymer material made of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer rubber. It has good elasticity as the temperature rises. Therefore, at low temperatures, it is less elastic, while at high temperatures, the film is very elastic.

After the TPU hot melt adhesive film is produced, the user needs to treat the interface to be compounded before using it for compounding. If the surfaces to be bonded are stained or visibly uneven, the overall bond will be affected. Therefore, before compounding, it is very important to pretreat the surface to be compounded.

In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the high temperature resistance of the TPU film. Although the TPU film can still maintain elasticity and toughness in a cold environment of minus 30 degrees, it does not perform well at high temperatures. TPU film will generate a lot of heat energy, so its high temperature resistance is average, and the usual use temperature is between -30°C and 80°C. It is not recommended to use it in an environment higher than 130°C for a long time. In addition to being widely used in the shoemaking industry, TPU hot melt adhesive films are also widely used in the production of brand outerwear, aquaculture and planting industries.

For users in different industries, it is necessary to pay attention to its specifications and performance when choosing TPU hot melt adhesive film. Only by choosing a suitable TPU hot melt adhesive film can we better meet the application requirements and obtain satisfactory results.

Although TPU hot melt adhesive film has a wide range of applications and high popularity, because it belongs to an industrial application field, most people cannot touch it. Therefore, in the cognition of many people, they may not have any impression of TPU hot melt adhesive film For this kind of thing that looks like a plastic film, it may be difficult for everyone to imagine that it is actually an adhesive, and it can be applied in such a wide range of fields!

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
