What should be paid attention to when producing tpu film?

TPU film is a thermoplastic polyurethane film. Compared with ordinary membranes, it has been greatly improved in terms of wear resistance, heat preservation, and wind resistance. In the process of manufacturing thin films, strict requirements for various processing techniques are also relatively high. Let's take a look at what issues should be paid attention to when dealing with TPU films.

TPU film is strongly welcomed by the market due to its excellent performance and environmental protection. Almost everywhere PVC can be used has been replaced by TPU. Here, TPU film manufacturers will take you to understand that PVC has better performance and wider application range, which is far from enough. TPU film is widely used in brand decoration such as soles, uppers, airbags, air cushions and oil bags of sports shoes.

TPU film manufacturers pointed out that to see whether the TPU film is good or bad, it should be analyzed from the following aspects:

1. Look at the viscosity of the film.

2. Smell the smell. Good quality TPU films are odorless, while poor quality materials will have some odors.

3. Look at the gloss.

4. Combustion performance.

5. Processing temperature. The specific heating temperature is closely related to its internal molecular weight.

Care should be taken to keep the granular material dry before processing the film. TPU film is a polar polymer that slowly absorbs water molecules in the air when exposed to air. In the subsequent processing, the surface of the finished product is not easy to be smooth, and the problem of bubbles inside occurs, resulting in a significant decrease in the performance of the film. If you want to better maintain the performance of the TPU film, you should pay attention to maintaining the dryness of the raw material of the TPU film before putting the raw material into the processing process.

In the process of TPU film processing, there are strict requirements on the processing temperature and the dryness of the processing environment. If the conditions of the entire production workshop are not well controlled, it is easy to affect the performance of the film and reduce its quality. It can be seen that for some enterprises that have higher quality requirements for such membranes, it is better to choose finished products produced by large-scale regular manufacturers such as our Tepuyou, so that the product quality will be more guaranteed.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
