After using hot melt adhesive film for material compounding, why does it feel hard?
After the hot melt adhesive film is bonded, the bonding part feels hard. Part of the consideration is related to the characteristics of the adhesive material itself, and it is also related to the type of hot melt adhesive film selected. In the process of compounding with the help of hot melt adhesive film, many people tend to ignore the characteristics of the material itself because they pay too much attention to the bonding effect. Some types of hot melt adhesive films and bonding materials are inherently hard. For common types of hot melt adhesive films such as PA and PES, the effect of the bonded materials will be obviously hard.

In addition, if the bonding material itself is too thick, too hard, or too heavy, it is easy to make the effect of the final bonding part hard.

Before starting to use the hot melt adhesive film for bonding, the dust and oil stains on the surface of the objects to be bonded must be cleaned up, so that in the subsequent compounding process, the adhesion of the hot melt adhesive film can be fully utilized .

Different types of hot melt adhesive films will have certain differences in the working time when they are compounded. In most cases, the operation time of hot melt adhesive film is about 15 seconds, and with the continuous development of assembly line production mode, the time required for hot melt adhesive film operation is gradually shortened, and some can be finished within 5 seconds. Complete the entire compound. When choosing a hot melt adhesive film, you can check whether the bonding time can meet your own production needs.

hot melt adhesive film is a kind of colloidal substance with very good bonding effect when used for material compounding. Whether it is compounded with similar materials or heterogeneous materials, the effect is very good. However, it should be noted that different types of hot melt adhesive films have certain differences in the materials they can be compounded, and everyone needs to distinguish them. In addition, its thickness will also have a certain impact on the overall gluing effect, but it does not mean that the thicker the better the effect, so choose carefully.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
