Comparison between TPU film and other materials

With the continuous development of science and technology, various materials are more and more widely used in various fields. Among them, TPU film, as a high-performance material, is widely used in automotive, construction, medical, electronics, packaging and other fields. However, when selecting materials, we often need to make comparisons to determine the most suitable material for our needs. In this article, we will compare TPU film with other materials to better understand the advantages and applications of TPU film.

First, the comparison of TPU film and PVC film

PVC film is a commonly used plastic film, with cheap, good transparency, corrosion resistance and other advantages. However, PVC film needs to add plasticizers and other harmful substances during processing, so it will cause harm to the human body and the environment. In addition, PVC film has low hardness, easy to scratch, and poor resistance to high temperature. TPU film has better high temperature resistance, wear resistance and oil resistance, but also has excellent environmental performance, does not contain harmful substances, harmless to humans and the environment.

Second, the comparison of TPU film and EVA film

EVA film is a thermoplastic elastomer film with good transparency, flexibility, weather resistance and processing performance. However, EVA film's high temperature resistance is poor, easy to deformation and discoloration. In addition, the mechanical properties and abrasion resistance of EVA film are not as good asTPU film. TPU film has better high temperature resistance, wear resistance and mechanical properties, but also has good environmental performance and electrical insulation properties.

Third, the comparison of TPU film and silicone film

Silicone film is a polymer material film, with excellent high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and electrical insulation properties. However, silica gel film has high hardness, easy to scratch and break, and poor processing performance. TPU film, on the other hand, has better flexibility and processing performance, as well as good environmental performance and oil resistance. In addition, TPU film also has excellent UV resistance and aging resistance, can maintain its performance and appearance over time.

Fourth, the comparison of TPU film and nylon film

Nylon film is a kind of plastic film with high strength and good abrasion resistance, which is commonly used in packaging and industrial fields. However, the high temperature resistance of nylon film is poor, easy to deformation and discoloration. In addition, the processing performance of nylon film is also poor. TPU film, on the other hand, has better high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance and mechanical properties, as well as good environmental performance and electrical insulation properties. In addition, TPU film also has excellent anti-static properties and transparency, suitable for a variety of packaging and industrial fields.

In summary, TPU film has many advantages and application advantages over other materials. It has excellent high temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, mechanical properties, environmental performance and electrical insulation properties, and can be widely used in various fields. When choosing materials, we can compare and choose according to the specific needs to achieve the best application results.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
