Conventional TPU film is generally said to be heat-resistant to 80°C
Conventional TPU film is generally said to be heat resistant to 80°C, which means that its long-term use temperature cannot exceed 80°C, otherwise the service life will be severely reduced. There is also a heat-resistant TPU film, which is said to be as high as 130°C, and there is also a TPU film modified with glass fiber, which has a high heat-resistant temperature. Polyether TPU film has good hydrolysis resistance and low temperature resistance, excellent mildew and antibacterial properties, and is very suitable for water sports products and medical products.

TPU film is made of TPU pellets by calendering, casting, film blowing, coating and other processes. At present, it is widely used in sports shoes: trademark decoration on soles and uppers, air bags, air cushions, oil bags, etc.

Chemical resistance of TPU film. TPU film is not resistant to strong solvents and strong acid-base media. At a certain temperature, alcohols, acids, and ketones will swell and degrade polyurethane elastomers. Dichloromethane, trichlorethylene, etc., solvents will swell the TPU film at room temperature.

Domestic TPU film wholesale production is mainly divided into two processes: casting and blow molding, and domestic enterprises mainly use casting technology, and there are very few enterprises using blow molding technology. The transparency of the TPU film refers to the ability of the natural color test piece to achieve intuitive clarity under different thicknesses. The thickness is often used to evaluate the effect of the transparent TPU film.

At present, TPU film products are mainly in the low-end consumer field, and the middle and high-end market is mainly occupied by Taiwan, China, European and American companies. The technology of TPU film enterprises in Taiwan, Europe and America is relatively mature, and the product performance is relatively stable. The market's high requirements for the performance of TPU film will promote the improvement of TPU film process technology and thus bring about new development in the industry, and its application prospect is very broad.

TPU hot melt adhesive film vs anaerobic adhesive: "Scene flexibility" difference in automotive interior bonding
2025-09-11
From the perspective of curing conditions, TPU hot melt adhesive film does not need to rely on special environments, while anaerobic adhesives are severely restricted by "auerobicity". The curing principle of anaerobic glue is to undergo polymerization under conditions of lack of oxygen and catalyzed by metal ions (such as iron and copper). If it is in an environment where air circulation or metal substrates are not available, the curing speed will be greatly slowed down or even unable to cure. In automotive interiors, most bonding scenarios are "open" (such as bonding the door panel skin to PP substrate, and the ceiling fabric to the sponge), the air can freely contact the bonding surface, and the substrate is mostly non-metallic (PP, ABS, fabric, etc.), lacking metal ion catalysis, and additional catalyst is required when using anaerobic glue, and the curing time is as long as several hours, which is difficult to meet the needs of industrial production. The TPU hot melt adhesive film only needs to be melted by heating (120-160℃) and can be cured after pressurization and cooling. It does not need to rely on the ambient oxygen concentration or the base material. It can be cured stably in open or closed bonding scenarios, and the curing time only takes a few dozen seconds to a few minutes, adapting to the fast-paced needs of the interior production line.
